From Cubicle to C-Suite: My Unconventional Path to Becoming a Virtual Executive Assistant

The fluorescent hum of the BPO floor had been my constant companion for years, a soundtrack to countless calls and troubleshooting sessions. But as I typed out my resignation letter in April 2025, an unsettling silence filled the air. No confirmed job offer awaited me. Just the urgent need to be by my mother's side in General Trias, Calabarzon, and a terrifyingly exhilarating leap of faith into the unknown. Many called it reckless; I called it necessary.

Life, as it often does, threw an unexpected curveball. My mother's health required immediate attention, and staying in my demanding BPO role was no longer an option. I resigned with no safety net, betting solely on my adaptability and a nascent belief that I could forge a new career path. What followed was a gauntlet of rejections. Application after application, interview after interview – the "no" became a familiar refrain.

Each rejection stung, a fresh reminder of the uncertainty I had willingly embraced. Doubt, a constant shadow, whispered warnings in my ear. But beneath the frustration, a flicker of resolve ignited. I wouldn't just wait for an opportunity; I would create one. My first strategic move was a complete digital overhaul. My LinkedIn profile, once a standard BPO resume, was meticulously rebranded. I began to highlight transferable skills: problem-solving, communication, organization, and a growing understanding of digital tools. Simultaneously, I transformed my dormant personal blog, not just into a showcase of newfound skills, but a learning ground for content creation and online presence management. The waiting period wasn't idle time; it was an intensive self-imposed university. I immersed myself in online courses, devouring knowledge on everything from advanced project management and data analytics to social media strategy and graphic design basics. I learned about automation tools, virtual communication best practices, and the intricacies of supporting high-level executives remotely. Every skill acquired, every certificate earned, was a brick in the foundation of my new professional identity. Finally, a breakthrough. I landed a position under an agency. It was a crucial stepping stone, a bridge to gain practical experience in the virtual assistant world. While valuable, I knew it wasn't my final destination. My vision was clearer now: to become a specialized

Executive Virtual Assistant, a true strategic partner to busy professionals. My journey is far from over. I continue to learn, to refine my skills, and to explore new specializations. The drive to master executive support, to truly anticipate needs and streamline operations, is what propels me forward. Looking back, the woman who resigned from the BPO floor without a job offer seems a world away from the aspiring executive VA I am today. The rejections were not roadblocks, but rather catalysts.

They didn't define me; they refined me. This unconventional path has taught me the immense power of resilience, the value of continuous learning, and the liberating freedom of betting on yourself, even when the odds seem stacked against you. And for anyone out there facing their own "reckless" leap, remember: sometimes, the greatest opportunities emerge from the very moments you dare to step into the unknown. Manuel C Rudio Jr

Cold Calling for Real Estate

Cold calling in real estate involves real estate agents directly contacting potential clients who haven't previously shown interest in their services, often via phone, to generate leads and build relationships. It's a proactive lead generation method where agents initiate contact, rather than waiting for prospects to reach out.

The four pillars of real estate cold calling are preparation, rapport building, value proposition, and follow-up. These pillars help real estate agents effectively engage with potential clients, convert them into customers, and ultimately close deals.

Here's a breakdown of each pillar:

1. Preparation:
This involves thoroughly researching your target audience and understanding their needs and motivations. www.JustCall.com emphasizes the importance of having a clear understanding of the property, market conditions, and potential buyers or sellers.

2. Rapport Building:
Establishing a connection with the prospect is crucial for building trust and gaining their attention. This involves active listening, demonstrating empathy, and tailoring your communication style to their personality.

3. Value Proposition:
Clearly articulating the benefits of working with you and your services is essential for convincing the prospect to choose you. This involves highlighting your expertise, market knowledge, and ability to deliver results.

4. Follow-up:
Consistent follow-up is vital for nurturing leads and keeping your name top-of-mind. This involves maintaining contact, providing updates, and addressing any concerns or questions the prospect may have.
