Shawn Mendes is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He attracted a following in 2013, when he began posting song covers on the popular video sharing application Vine.
He will be hitting Manila with storm of his music this month.
Shawn Mendes will be bringing a playful and passionate performance to Manila on October 26, 2016 at Mall of Asia Arena. The 17 year old teen pop sensation first began uploading videos of his covers on Vine, a social media video site and app, in 2013. Soon, his videos had been played millions of times and he had a legion of followers. This early fame was based on six-second clips of covers of many pop songs. By the summer of 2014, he was ranked number three in terms of followers on Vine. Andrew Gertler, artist manager, then came across Mendes early in 2014. He invited him to audition for Island Records, and Mendes was soon signed to the label. Island issued the teen’s single debut, “Life of the Party”, that June. The youngest musician to release a Top 25 debut on Billboard’s Hot 100, Mendes’ first song was ranked 24th in the week of July 12th, 2014.
Before getting signed to Island Records, Mendes was toured with MagCon, which included other social media stars and young artists. He had also been on a national tour as an opener for Austin Mahone. In July of 2014, Mendes released his self-titled debut. The release entered the Billboard 200 at number five, where it also peaked, and reached 48,000 in sales within a week of its release. Also that year, Mendes won Webstar in Music at the Teen Choice Awards.
One Direction made history in the music industry , however each member has the own path in terms of their career nowadays, Niall Horan recently released his video of “This Town” and has over 6 million views as of this writing.
Niall follows in the footsteps of Zayn Malik and Harry Styles, who are pursuing solo careers in music and the movies, respectively. Harry has been cast alongside screen vets Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy in “Dunkirk,” Christopher Nolan’s World War II action-thriller about the Dunkirk evacuation during the Battle of France.
Niall Horan is making his presence felt, this time without his pals from One Direction—Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson—as he embarks on a solo career with the release of his debut single, “This Town.”
The hum-worthy song is a stripped-down number that turns on the mush, as Niall pines for an old flame who has “moved on with someone new.” In the guitar-driven pop ballad fueled by a toe-tapping folksy patter, he sings about his inability to let go: “It’s funny how things never change in this town/ (I’d) drive highways and byways to be there with you/ Over and over the only truth/ Everything comes back to you.”
The beautifully rendered track recalls the somber tone, melodic appeal and lyrical splendor of “You & I”—and it looks like the 23-year-old performer’s followers have come out in droves to support his solo venture.
Niall will reportedly team up with hot-to-trot Shawn Mendes in a track for his coming solo album. He has received congratulatory greetings from Harry, Louis and Liam, (as of this writing) has yet to hear from Zayn, who figured in a Twitter feud with Louis last year
I remember my 4 day trip to Bangkok and was very glad that I pushed through that Bangkok travel plans last summer. It’s good to see with my own eyes that the real situation in Bangkok appears to be not as bad as the one portrayed by the media. In fact, I did not see any army and protesters through out my stay. I felt very safe and even rode a taxi at 10 pm alone. Having been to Bangkok three times, I did not feel any difference except that Suvarnabhumi Airport was rather empty compared to my Bangkok trips years back.
The Thai capital of Bangkok has beaten London to be crowned the world's most popular travel destination this year, according to an annual ranking by global payments and technology company Mastercard released on Thursday.
Thailand expects to welcome a record 33 million visitors this year, thanks to a jump in the number of Chinese tourists.
Sprawling Bangkok is projected to receive 21.47 million international visitors in 2016, just ahead of second-ranked London, with 19.88 million visitors.
Last month's wave of bomb blasts in southern Thailand, which police have blamed on Muslim separatists, appears to have had a limited impact on tourism.
Bangkok, also known as the 'city of angels', topped the 2016 listing of 132 cities, beating London, Paris and Dubai to become the city most visited by international travellers in the Mastercard Index of Global Destination Cities.
