RELATIONSHIP GOALS : UNDERSTANDING EACH ONE'S ATTACHMENT STYLE

Psychology once thought me that there are different kinds of attachment. And there are a lot of attachment theories that you can search on the internet nowadays. Most of the articles I’ve read from psychologist suggests that . Our attachment style affects everything from our partner selection to how well our relationships progress and to, sadly, how they end.

DISCLAIMER : This is going to be a long article, so if a lot of you will request by sending me a comment on the chatbox in this blog. I probably make another article on this topic.

Let us first understand “What is attachment and why is it important?”

Attachment refers the particular way in which you relate to other people. Your style of attachment was formed at the very beginning of your life, during your first two years.  Once established, it is a style that stays with you and plays out today in how you relate in intimate relationships and in how you parent your children.

Now, let’s dig deeper and see what are the TYPES OF ATTACHMENT.

Secure Attachment:
Ideally, from the time infants are six months to two years of age, they form an emotional attachment to an adult who is attuned to them, that is, who is sensitive and responsive in their interactions with them. It is vital that this attachment figure remain a consistent caregiver throughout this period in a child’s life. During the second year, children begin to use the adult as a secure base from which to explore the world and become more independent. A child in this type of relationship is securely attached.

Avoidant Attachment:
There are adults who are emotionally unavailable and, as a result, they are insensitive to and unaware of the needs of their children. They have little or no response when a child is hurting or distressed. These parents discourage crying and encourage independence. Often their children quickly develop into “little adults” who take care of themselves.

Ambivalent/Anxious Attachment:
Some adults are inconsistently attuned to their children. At times their responses are appropriate and nurturing but at other times they are intrusive and insensitive. Children with this kind of parenting are confused and insecure, not knowing what type of treatment to expect.

Disorganized Attachment:
When a parent or caregiver is abusive to a child, the child experiences the physical and emotional cruelty and frightening behavior as being life-threatening. This child is caught in a terrible dilemma: her survival instincts are telling her to flee to safety but safety is the very person who is terrifying her.

Now that you have been introduced to the different types of attachment , probably it is time to assess yourself and find out how your style of attachment impacts of current relationship.

I might be posting an article soon on a quick assessment guide on your attachment style. Let me know if this will be relevant for you. Just send me a comment.

According to an article on pyschalive.org. attachment research demonstrates that “the best predictor of a child’s security of attachment is not what happened to his parents as children, but rather how his parents made sense of those childhood experiences.” The key to “making sense” of your life experiences is to write a coherent narrative, which helps you understand how your childhood experiences are still affecting you in your life today.

WHAT IS EMOJI FASHION?

I am not a fashion expert and this article is not to criticize what I see around the metro. But I have seen it not only on Instagram but all over the mall as well. So I wanna know, is this what's trendy now? Emoji Prints from shirts to shoes? Please enlighten me!!!!

Photos are Versace Emojis check out : www.vogue.com

Emoji fashion

“It’s all about Instagram” is this decade’s fashion cliche. Thing is, it’s still true. At New York, the Insta-influence is in the emoji-style prints, and in the rise of theDancing Lady emoji as the ultimate party girl silhouette. Altuzarra, designed by 33-year-old Joseph Altuzarra, was an out-of-the-box hit, with more lemons and cherries than a millennial WhatsApp group and a gorgeously sultry silhouette. J Crew’s long, ruffled skirts in fine blue cotton gave a chic, toned-down take on the scarlet Dancing Lady.

WHAT DOES VOGUE HAS TO SAY WITH THIS TREND?

Scribes among us might have been surprised, shocked even, when the Oxford Dictionaries chose the “Face With Tears of Joy” emoji as its word of the year. Well, if recent pop-cultural and fashion trends are any indication, the emojification of our once text-based society is set to become the norm. The announcement that Apple would add more than 100 new and redesigned emoji to its next iOS update was headline news yesterday; meanwhile celebrities from Kim Kardashian West to Justin Bieber to Blac Chyna have their own emoji ranges and fashion brands are joining in on the action, with the illustrated faces appearing on several runways this year. The latest label to get in the emoji game is Acne Studios, which released a collection of emoji hats, tees, and sweaters yesterday. Its icons of choice? The banana, pig nose, doughnut, microphone, hamburger, and, according to a press release, “a brown swirl of mousse.”

At Chanel, Lagerfeld has featured the symbols in two of his recent runway shows. Consider how often he changes inspirations and this is a big get for emoji.

Niall Horan's New Direction of Career

One Direction made history in the music industry , however each member has the own path in terms of their career nowadays, Niall Horan recently released his video of “This Town” and has over 6 million views as of this writing.

Niall follows in the footsteps of Zayn Malik and Harry Styles, who are pursuing solo careers in music and the movies, respectively. Harry has been cast alongside screen vets Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy in “Dunkirk,” Christopher Nolan’s World War II action-thriller about the Dunkirk evacuation during the Battle of France.

Niall Horan is making his presence felt, this time without his pals from One Direction—Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson—as he embarks on a solo career with the release of his debut single, “This Town.”

The hum-worthy song is a stripped-down number that turns on the mush, as Niall pines for an old flame who has “moved on with someone new.” In the guitar-driven pop ballad fueled by a toe-tapping folksy patter, he sings about his inability to let go: “It’s funny how things never change in this town/ (I’d) drive highways and byways to be there with you/ Over and over the only truth/ Everything comes back to you.”

The beautifully rendered track recalls the somber tone, melodic appeal and lyrical splendor of “You & I”—and it looks like the 23-year-old performer’s followers have come out in droves to support his solo venture.

Niall will reportedly team up with hot-to-trot Shawn Mendes in a track for his coming solo album. He has received congratulatory greetings from Harry, Louis and Liam,  (as of this writing) has yet to hear from Zayn, who figured in a Twitter feud with Louis last year
