Psychology once thought me that there are different kinds of attachment. And there are a lot of attachment theories that you can search on the internet nowadays. Most of the articles I’ve read from psychologist suggests that . Our attachment style affects everything from our partner selection to how well our relationships progress and to, sadly, how they end.
DISCLAIMER : This is going to be a long article, so if a lot of you will request by sending me a comment on the chatbox in this blog. I probably make another article on this topic.
Let us first understand “What is attachment and why is it important?”
Attachment refers the particular way in which you relate to other people. Your style of attachment was formed at the very beginning of your life, during your first two years. Once established, it is a style that stays with you and plays out today in how you relate in intimate relationships and in how you parent your children.
Now, let’s dig deeper and see what are the TYPES OF ATTACHMENT.
Secure Attachment:
Ideally, from the time infants are six months to two years of age, they form an emotional attachment to an adult who is attuned to them, that is, who is sensitive and responsive in their interactions with them. It is vital that this attachment figure remain a consistent caregiver throughout this period in a child’s life. During the second year, children begin to use the adult as a secure base from which to explore the world and become more independent. A child in this type of relationship is securely attached.
Avoidant Attachment:
There are adults who are emotionally unavailable and, as a result, they are insensitive to and unaware of the needs of their children. They have little or no response when a child is hurting or distressed. These parents discourage crying and encourage independence. Often their children quickly develop into “little adults” who take care of themselves.
Ambivalent/Anxious Attachment:
Some adults are inconsistently attuned to their children. At times their responses are appropriate and nurturing but at other times they are intrusive and insensitive. Children with this kind of parenting are confused and insecure, not knowing what type of treatment to expect.
Disorganized Attachment:
When a parent or caregiver is abusive to a child, the child experiences the physical and emotional cruelty and frightening behavior as being life-threatening. This child is caught in a terrible dilemma: her survival instincts are telling her to flee to safety but safety is the very person who is terrifying her.
Now that you have been introduced to the different types of attachment , probably it is time to assess yourself and find out how your style of attachment impacts of current relationship.
I might be posting an article soon on a quick assessment guide on your attachment style. Let me know if this will be relevant for you. Just send me a comment.
According to an article on pyschalive.org. attachment research demonstrates that “the best predictor of a child’s security of attachment is not what happened to his parents as children, but rather how his parents made sense of those childhood experiences.” The key to “making sense” of your life experiences is to write a coherent narrative, which helps you understand how your childhood experiences are still affecting you in your life today.
Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2016 Jennifer Hammond says there is definitely pressure for her to perform at this year's Miss Intercontinental contest in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has to maintain or surpass the successful streak by former queens Kris Janson, who placed 2nd runner-up in 2014, and Christi Lynn McGarry, who placed 1st runner-up in 2015.
Live Streaming on Youtube here:
In an interview with Rappler.com she responded :
"Kailangan ko ma-maintain iyon or 'yung progress na iyon. So the only way to progress is to win the title. After first runner-up, we have to win. So doon ako mas pressured," she told reporters during the send-off party for her and fellow beauty queens Kylie Verzosa and Nicole Cordoves last September 28.(I need to maintain that, or that progress. So the only way to progress is to win the title. After first runner-up, we have to win. So that's where I'm more pressured.)
As for her fears about the contest, Jennifer said: "Sa lahat naman ng beauty pageant, there’s politics and I heard from some, off the grapevine, na medyo may politics. So ang fear ko lang is I don’t get the chance to compete with all of them equally and cleanly, parang ganun. Kasi I know naman that alam ko sa sarili ko na I'm prepared, and if I do what I would have to do, I'll do well. "
(In all beauty pageants, there's politics and I heard from some, off the grapevine, that there is a bit of politics. So my fear is I don't get to compete with all of equally, and cleanly, like that. Because I know that I'm prepared, and I do what I would have to, I'll do well.)
But despite these issues, Jennifer is focused on getting the much coveted Miss Intercontinental crown for the country. Before leaving for Sri Lanka, Jennifer went through a lot of training for walking, the question and answer round, and doing her own makeup.
As for representing the Philippines, Jennifer said that she will just be herself when she competes with the other candidates.
"I think I'm an epitome of isang Filipina. Dahil lumaki naman ako dito, at yung mga values natin ay meron ako nun. So I will just show them who I am pero yung polished me. I would treat them with respect and be friendly with them as we are known to be really friendly people," she said in a mixture of English and Filipino.
What does it mean by putting your name on the guest list? Does it mean you have been invited? Does it mean you get in for free?
Well for novice party goers’ the term guest list can be confusing I am going to try and explain what is actually meant by the phrase guest list and what the advantages are of getting on the guest list and how you can go about getting on a guest list.
Your probably wondering why bars & clubs require a guest list and why people cannot just turn up as and when they please?
Well in most cases they can, but on other busier more popular days like the weekends and special event nights a guest list is in operation to help the bars & clubs control the numbers of guests.
The guest lists give the managers a good indication of whether the night is going to be busy or not and if they are going to need extra stock, staff or security.
As for party goers getting on the guest list for clubs has its advantages as it improves your chances of getting in without a long wait, but it’s not a guarantee.
It may also eliminate or reduce the cover charge at some clubs and not at others.
Trying to get your names on guest list 20 minutes before arriving is a big “no, no”! As most guest lists have a cut off time, so submitting your list early is highly recommended.
For some clubs, it’s a simple matter of calling early in the evening and asking to be put on the guest list. You may be referred to the club website or a specific promoter.
What’s a promoter I hear you ask?
Well, you can check on my old posts on this blog explaining what promoters do, what their duties and responsibilities are (that includes my job!). But for the benefit of my new readers. A promoter is usually a person who promotes various events and night for bars and clubs and is usually rewarded with commission for every paying customer they bring.
Some promoters provide access to their guest list, especially for new clubs, through postings on social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter and Instagram which is the most common way for promoters to get the word out to a large audience with the least amount of effort. As for me I maintain a blog for club promotion among other media platform.
Having your name on a guest list does not guarantee you and your guest entry to the bar or club, there are other factors at play, i.e. dress code, time of arrival, and most importantly your behaviour and attitude.
However there are ways of improving your chances of getting in also, like reserving a table and agreeing to minimum spends on bottle service can be the best way of bypassing the lines and guest list problem.
So before you plan your night out quickly do your homework on the venue of your choice and see what the entry requirements are and if you tick all the right boxes then you should have no problems at all.
Well that’s pretty much it on guest lists we hope you enjoyed our quick lesson and we welcome you to browse through some of our other blogs, hopefully they will be as helpful as this one.

Dining in a casual or fancy restaurant has always been an obsession to me. The ambiance of the restaurants makes a great impact on my happiness as a person.
There are restaurants where you can eat with a Wii controller in one hand and a bowl of panna cotta in the other, or paint a watercolor masterpiece while sipping wine, or enjoy your afternoon coffee surrounded by cute animals. The latest experiential dining concept to emerge in Manila is one you can’t miss.
Noche: Dine in the Dark Manila invites guests to experience their dinner in a whole new light: that is to say, in complete darkness.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
The menu items are not revealed prior to the meal and guests go in dark, both literally and figuratively, for the full experience. Cellphones, watches and any other devices that emit light are also not allowed in the pitch-black restaurant.
It may sound like eating in the dark is so easy you can do it with your eyes closed, but if anything, losing your sense of sight can make the experience a real challenge. Although, per the restaurant’s FAQs, “it is very rare to see someone not feeling comfortable with dining in the dark,” they've anticipated all the little adjustments guests will have to make.
Aprons and gloves are provided for those are worried about making a mess on their clothes. There will also be “darkness experts” to assist you and to ensure that everything goes smoothly. The wait staff are all either totally blind or severely visually impaired—the best people to guide you through your dinner in the dark since they are all perfectly used to navigating through their daily tasks without sight. The restaurant is also equipped with infrared cctv cameras for the guests' security.
Noche: Dine in the Dark Manila is located at the A. Venue Suites Hotel Makati and will be open for dinner service at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting October 14, 2016. - See more at: www.dineindarkmanila.com
